The Thorngate Pantomime and Variety Company was formed over 50 years ago to promote, stimulate and foster musical performance for the enjoyment of the people of Gosport.  The “Panto” Club stages successful Variety Shows, Cabarets at the centre and welcomes new Members (16 years and over). Gosport Community Association are pleased to present monthly lunchtime concerts featuring the Jim Hames Big Band at the Thorngate Ballroom.  FREE admission to all concerts.  A silver collection is made at exits.  Hot and cold food is available for purchase from Bury House Cafe.

The Gosport and District Organ Club meet at Gosport Community Association twice a month - 1.00pm on the second Wednesday of the month in the Thorngate Ballroom (Compton Organ) and at 6.30 p.m. on the fourth Monday in the Music Room  (Electronic Organ). As well as normal club nights, we hold occasional Sunday concerts in association with the National Theatre Organ Club and Thursday lunchtime concerts by organists from the local area. Radio Haslar is a charity organisation that broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year to the patients and staff at the Gosport War Memorial Hospital and can now be heard online at www.radiohaslar  Radio Haslar’s studios are located on the first floor of Bury House but the organisation retains the name “Haslar” because of its links to that area of Gosport, the former hospital and the good reputation associated with all that is Haslar. The Band was formed with amalgamation of two bands in the area  - Gosport Silver Band and Solent Concert Brass in 2011.  Both bands amalgamated to continue to provide a sound musical ensemble and to continue to promote Brass music within the local area. As well as performing at local concerts and fetes, the band will be moving forward into the contesting arena. Gosport Solent Brass are currently a fourth section brass band, and from the expert guidance of Royal Marine bandsman Richard Sharp, the band are looking to progress even further!
The Band rehearse in the Privett Suite at Gosport Community Association - Tuesdays at 19:30-21:30 and Sundays at 10:30-12:30 -  If you are interested in attending a rehearsal or would like to become involved with the Band, please contact on the above numbers. To develop new talent, the Band has set up a training scheme for young and inexperienced players and tuition is given by members of the Senior Band. Their ages range from 7 to retirement, and experience from 2 years to complete beginners. Training Band meet in the Bandroom at the Thorngate Halls, Bury Road, Gosport on Sunday between 9:15am and 10:15am

A  warm welcome is given to all new members in the Thorngate Ballroom most Wednesday evenings from 7.15pm.  It’s so easy and definitely a FUN way of keeping fit for all ages.  If you’re stressed or depressed or simply want to get fit with dance, then come along and strut your stuff!!  No need for a partner or any previous dancing experience.  Pay at the door – £4.00 per session. Beginners and popular dances taught.

If you enjoy singing, come along and join us.  The Thorngate Singers are a newly established singing Group affiliated to Gosport Community Association.  Meetings are held each week in the Music Room, to sing songs, new and old and across many genres iwth a view to an occasional public performance.  We are an informal and friendly Group with a range of ages. New Members welcome.

Jive with the best Rock n Roll Bands and supporting DJ’s at the Thorngate Ballroom, Gosport.  Doors open 7.30 till midnight with licensed bar. This is a friendly and well organised Club and offers an enjoyable evening for everyone who loves to jive to good old Rock N Roll.

The Thorngate Dance Club comes under the umbrella of the Gosport Community Association  with the objective of promoting, stimulating and fostering dance.   It covers many genre of Dance  organising  monthly 50/50 Dances (Ballroom Dancing), weekly Tea Dances  and the popular Country & Western evenings.  Dances are held in the newly refurbished Ballroom where patrons can enjoy good music, great company in an excellent venue!  The Committee are always looking for new ideas to meet all tastes of Dance.  Contact the above number if you would like to discuss any ideas or would like further details of the Dance
